We are thrilled to have been offered Rotterdam KF {Skittles} by her breeder, Kimberlee Farms, as a yearling after having purchased her dam, Kanuni from them earlier in 2022.

Skittles is out of Kanuni, an imported Keur Eligible D-OC Dutch Warmblood by Harley VDL (Heartbreaker) bred by VDL Stud in The Netherlands.

Kanuni, and therefore Skittles, descends from one of the top damlines in the world, Holsteiner Stamm 741. The direct damline has produced the Olympic stallions Cardento and Cartello VDL, 1.60 m stallion Quintender and more.

​

Her sire, Glasgow van't Merelsnest is among one of the top show jumpers in The Netherlands. Glasgow is by Nabab de Rêve and out of Wendelina van't Merelsnest (Darco), who competed to 1.50 m herself and is the full sister of superstar Sapphire, this pedigree is packed full of the best of the best for show jumping on both sides!

Skittles should mature to about 16.2 hh, she is neither too heavy, nor too sensitive/bloody, she has a spectacular mind and has been the easiest horse to start. She is very eager to please and loves to be with her person.

We plan to flush embryos from Skittles while she gets started with under saddle training this year, we are very excited to see what the future holds with this special mare!
